‘Keys’

Keys is a documentary set in a dying rural town in southern Minnesota—where the last grocery store has closed and everyday life is slowly disappearing. It’s also the town where my dad and grandparents grew up, so the film is both an observation and a return: a look at what happens to a place when its center fades, and what it means to still feel tied to it through family, memory, and the people who remain.

Undertow

Undertow is a self-produced 6-track music project by Miles Nelson accompanied by a continuous film that weaves together every song into one connected visual story. The video documents Miles Nelson’s neighborhood, friends, and family in South Minneapolis, centering on the importance of community, memory, and the people who shape us. Featuring intimate footage from inside his home, a performance scene with his dad, and moments from Thanksgiving spent with friends, the project captures a personal portrait of place, relationships, and the everyday experiences that define home.

‘mess’

“Mess” is a self-produced song by Miles Nelson, released in 2025. Featuring a dreamy, nostalgic beat, the track is paired with a video composed of childhood home footage of Miles, his family, and his siblings. The visuals capture the joy, intimacy, and resilience of family life, preserving moments of connection through less stable times.
